Turning Point's Managing Director for Public Health responds to new alcohol guidelines

Mark Shepperd, Turning Point’s Managing Director for Public Health said:

'We welcome the CMO's new alcohol guidelines showing that there is not actually a ‘safe’ alcohol limit. Given the increasing evidence that shows rising costs and health implications of alcohol, it is important that both men and women are aware of the risks and are supported to make healthy choices.

'It is also important that people know where to go for help if they are concerned about their drinking habits. Turning Point’s services are not just for those with long term needs, but can help people who may be drinking a few glasses of wine too many a week and need some advice. For example, our Resolution Clinics, operating in areas including London, the Cotswolds and Medway, support people who are working to access support in the evenings, while our Roving Recovery Vehicles take support into rural communities where issues are often hidden.
