Turning Point Response to Mental Health Strategy

In response to the new Mental Health Strategy, published today, Turning Point's Chief Executive, Lord Victor Adebowale said;

"Turning Point agrees there is no health without mental health. As a key mental health provider, we are aware of the importance of making mental health a priority across government and look forward to delivering services in this new landscape.

"Intervening early improves lives and cuts costs, yet access to quality mental health services is currently a real lottery.   Psychological therapies can provide a solution to this and the £400m to expand IAPT is therefore vital.   Delivering flexible talking therapies will support people to achieve positive outcomes, access employment and live healthier lives.  In uncertain economic times government, providers and communities must work together to ensure that the nation's mental health doesn't suffer."
