In response to the news that Mental health teams will be placed in police stations and courts in the capital in a bid to cut reoffending by tackling high rates of psychological illness within the offender population, Dr. Felix Davies, Managing Director for Mental Health Services at Turning Point said;

"At Turning Point we know that individuals with mental health issues often end up in the care of the police. It is unacceptable that any individual experiencing mental ill health is met with anything but the utmost quality of care, support and compassion. This pilot is an important step towards better care for those experiencing mental ill health and is a huge stride forward for parity of esteem but we must keep the momentum going to ensure that such services are rolled out across the country."
