In response to the Panorama programme broadcast yesterday, 'The Hospital that Stopped Caring', Fiona Ritchie, Managing Director of Turning Point's Learning Disability Services said;

"People with learning disabilities can find themselves in many different support services, from independent hospital provision, NHS provision, Voluntary agencies and their own home. What Panorama tells us is that people who may be more vulnerable in our society can face abusive situations even in settings we assume are safe.

Essentially we need to look at how society views people with learning disabilities and how we as a nation treat people who are vulnerable; only then shall we see change to the terrible abuses that people can face."
