Turning Point launches Housing Support in Cumbria

News item posted: 19 June 2017

From 1st April, Turning Point will be delivering support linked to accommodation for 49 people across Carlisle, Eden, Allerdale and Copeland.

Operations Manager, Mary Grace Brown said: ‘We have been operating in the local area for a number of years now, so we’re very well-placed to be delivering this new service. We have strong connections and a real commitment to the local community and look forward to supporting people to make healthy choices.’

Turning Point will deliver 1:1 support and group activities to help people maintain their accommodation and prioritise their health and wellbeing. We will also empower people to engage with other local services to support healthy lifestyles.

This new service means support will be expanded to reach more people in new areas across Cumbria, providing help for those who are homeless, including people leaving prison, who may have needs linked to mental health issues, substance misuse, learning disability and/or offending behaviour.
