Turning Point Chief Executive included in HSJ’s BME healthcare pioneers list

Today the Health Service Journal (HSJ) published its first ever list of healthcare's pioneers from black and minority ethnic backgrounds.

Turning Point's Chief Executive, Lord Victor Adebowale, was included in the list.

The HSJ created the list in response to the fact that only 1 in 200-plus NHS trusts has a chief executive from a BME background despite the fact that 'a growing number of BME leaders are forging a career and reputation in the healthcare sector − providing role models and inspiration that could spark a step change in representation'.

Alastair McLellan, editor of the HSJ wrote in his foreword to the list; "Doubtless the list is not exhaustive but, by shining the spotlight on these pioneers, HSJ and its partners seek to provide inspiration to the huge reservoir of talent that the NHS is failing to tap."
