Share your story at the Recovery Street Film Festival

News item posted: 19 June 2017

The inaugural Recovery Street Film Festival has now launched.

Organised by a consortium of treatment providers including Phoenix Futures, Turning Point, CRI, Blenheim and Action on Addiction, supported by Public Health England and Drugscope (www.recoverystreetfilmfestival.co.uk/partners) the festival aims to celebrate and promote recovery from substance misuse dependency.

We are on the hunt for anyone who wants to share their story through film around the theme 'deserving a future', focusing on living with the challenges of recovery.

A judging panel of film industry experts will select their chosen submissions to feature at 'pop-up' cinemas in London, Cardiff, Liverpool, Birmingham and Glasgow in September 2014. Qualifying films, including those not selected by the judges for the festival, will be available to watch and share on-line to promote education and insight around addiction and recovery. Not only will the judges' chosen films feature as part of the festival, the winner will also receive £1000 worth of film related prizes.

Get involved

You don't need to be a professional film maker to take part, anyone can enter and you have until 28th July 2014 to submit your film. Full details including the festival theme, terms and conditions and how to make and submit your film are available on the Recovery Street Film Festival website at www.recoverystreetfilmfestival.co.uk/
