On Thursday, Sadiq Khan MP, visited health and social care organisation Turning Point's Corner House service in Rotherham, to find out how they are helping individuals with complex needs and mental health issues to live more independently.

Mr Khan, MP for Buckingham and Shadow Justice Secretary, was given a tour of the service and was shown how they are supporting individuals to integrate back into their communities through intensive forms of rehabilitation services. Mr Khan was shown exactly how the Corner House 'recovery' based program helps individuals move back into their communities quickly, enabling them to move out of the secure environment that they may well have been for a long period of time.

Service Manager Alan Malin said of the visit;

"We were very pleased to have Sadiq visit the service and to see the keen interest he took in the individuals we support and the issues we raised relating to social care.  Despite the current climate, Turning Point remains ambitious for people with complex needs, and await the much anticipated publication of the draft of the Government's Social Care White Paper this year."
