Parliament visit is a ‘once in a lifetime opportunity’ for Corner House residents

On Monday 24th September residents from The Corner House in Rotherham visited the Houses of Parliament at the invitation of Sadiq Khan, MP who visited the Corner House in May.

Sadiq Khan MP said; "Visiting the Corner House in Rotherham, the residents and staff made me extremely welcome and showed me the fantastic work of Turning Point. It's great that the residents from the Corner House were able to come and see where I work in Parliament."

For the staff and residents at The Corner House, a visit to Westminster was months in the planning.

Operations Manager at The Corner House, Alan Malin said: "Sadiq Khan MP invited us during a visit to the service in May and since then it's been high on our priority list to make the trip a reality. Visiting Parliament was a once in a lifetime opportunity that gave the residents a learning and life experience that many are never lucky enough to achieve - we feel very lucky and thankful to everyone involved."
