New Alcohol Service aimed at professionals opens in Westminster

News item posted: 19 June 2017

'The Resolution Clinic', a new alcohol support service in Westminster, is now open every Wednesday evening from 5pm-8pm with a drop in service, 1-2-1 professional advice and pre-booked appointment slots available.

The service is delivered by professional staff from Turning Point, a social enterprise with 50 years' experience in delivering alcohol support services to a range of people. The Resolution Clinic is specifically aimed at those who may not be able to access support during the day as a result of work or other commitments but who may need or want advice around their alcohol use.

The service also has a nurse available by appointment only who can discuss community and residential detox and medication to help with alcohol withdrawals or cravings.

Raymond O'Brien, 'The Resolution Clinic' Manager said;

"There is an association that people who access drug and alcohol services are those who drink on the street or are homeless but we know that this isn't true. Alcohol misuse can affect anyone."

"Professionals in London and across the UK are often working in high pressured jobs with an after work 'pub culture'. The Resolution Clinic has been developed to meet the needs of this wider treatment population. You do not have to be dependent on alcohol to access this clinic. It is there for people who may binge at the weekends or worry that they are drinking more than they should. We would encourage anyone who feels they may be drinking too much or who would like some health advice around their alcohol use to drop in and speak to us."
