John Bercow MP visits learning disability service in Tring

On Friday, John Bercow MP, visited health and social care organisation, Turning Point's Follybridge service on Bulbourne Road in Tring, to find out how they are helping individuals with a learning disability to live more independently.

Mr Bercow, MP for Buckingham and Speaker of the House of Commons, was given a tour of the service and was shown how they are supporting individuals with a learning disability to make the kind of everyday choices many of us take for granted.  Mr Bercow was also given a demonstration of Turning Point's new tool, SPOT which is designed to measure outcomes for people with a learning disability effectively, ensuring their needs, wishes and goals are achieved.

"We were very pleased to have John visit the service and to see the keen interest he took in the individuals we support and theissues we raised relating to social care.  Despite the current climate, Turning Point remains ambitious for people with a learning disability, and await the publication of the Government's Social Care White Paper this spring."
