On Thursday 2nd June Ben Gummer, Member of Parliament for Ipswich, visited Turning Point’s drug and alcohol recovery service in Ipswich.

The visit provided an opportunity to demonstrate the support that is on offer through group sessions, clinical services, the youth team, the Welcome Café and alternative therapies.

John Carlin, Senior Operations Manager at Turning Point’s Suffolk Recovery Network said: ‘Welcoming our local Member of Parliament was a great opportunity to showcase the support we provide. The visit was a success, and we hope Mr Gummer will choose to remain engaged with Turning Point’s Suffolk Recovery Network.’

Ben Gummer, MP for Ipswich said: ‘Turning Point’s sets a great example for providing support to people affected by drug and alcohol misuse. I was impressed by the variety of support that is on offer, especially the peer mentor groups where people can get advice and support from others who have a lived experience of drug and alcohol misuse.’

Turning Point’s drug and alcohol service in Suffolk provides free support for adults and young people, working with other organisations such as Iceni and Suffolk Family Carers to ensure the right support is provided.
